Ohlins shock DIY tips

I installed an Ohlins shock on my Scrambler.... huge improvement. Upper U-fitting is wider than stock, so I used an M10x1.5x50mm bolt. The lower mount binds a bit on the swing arm. It cleared carefully with a Dremel. Anyway, OEM lower bolt works and washer/spacer is not needed anymore. Just in case anyone needs the info.

I know this is going to be of excellent use for some, but let me throw in a small tip for you and the others. Eliminating the washer means you might want to keep an eye on the bolt. Washers are designed to keep things tight and without one it might start to become lose from the vibrations.

It's always good to hear feedback from members here doing mods! What Ohlins model did you go with? I'm curious to hear if you've noticed much of a difference with how the bike handles the rougher rides now? The price tag on Ohlins is a serious commitment, and I'm always trying to figure out if it's worth the investment or if a cheaper option still gets you most of the way.
